LOKYS is a historic Lithuanian cuisine restaurant in Vilnius Old Town, telling the stories that reach back to the era of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. For over 50 years, the restaurant has been celebrated for its game meat: the menu features dishes made from wild boar, venison, and beaver (our beaver stew is unique in Vilnius). Alongside these, we offer traditional Lithuanian dishes such as cold beet soup and zeppelins.
Each dish on our menu is annotated with the century when its ingredients first arrived in Lithuania, along with genuine facts about our country’s gastronomic heritage, making a visit to Lokys a journey through Lithuanian culinary history. To accompany your meal, we invite you to explore our selection of local drinks: mead, kvass, beer, liqueurs, and berry and fruit wines crafted by small Lithuanian producers.
Our kitchen is led by second-generation family chef Rita Keršulytė-Ryčkova. She holds the prestigious Grand Diplôme from the Le Cordon Bleu culinary school and is also a qualified sommelier with a WSET Level 3 Diploma.

Restaurant LOKYS is located at Stiklių g. 8, in the very heart of Vilnius Old Town, Lithuania — just a few minutes’ walk from the Town Hall. The restaurant occupies a 15th-century merchant’s house and is one of the most authentic historic settings in the city, featuring 15th–16th-century Gothic cellars, an 18th-century Baroque room with a restored fresco, and 19th–20th-century Wine rooms. Please note that access to the Gothic cellar is via a narrow and pretty steep staircase. To learn more about our spaces, visit lokys.lt/en/interiors.
Vilnius Old Town is a paid street-parking zone and we do not have our own free parking; however, the nearest paid car parks and on-street parking spots (e.g. on Vokiečių, Dominikonų, Rūdininkų, and Gaono streets) are within a few minutes’ walk. If you are already in the Old Town, Lokys is easy to reach on foot — we are situated in the popular Glass Quarter, close to the main sights.
LOKYS is open every day, Monday through Sunday, from 12:00 to 24:00 (noon to midnight).

We particularly recommend booking in advance on weekends, during public holidays, and throughout the summer season. When making a reservation, please let us know your preferred date, time, number of guests, and any special requests — such as a preference for a particular dining room, a high chair, a pet you’d like to bring along, or any dietary requirements. We will do our best to accommodate your wishes and prepare accordingly. The reservation time, number of guests, or name can be amended later by phone or by emailing info@lokys.lt.
The restaurant is open daily from 12:00 to 24:00. Our largest dining room accommodates up to 55 guests, so we welcome both individual guests and larger groups.
Restaurant Lokys has six unique spaces: the 15th-century Olden Basement, the 16th-century Gothic Cellars, the Baroque room with its restored 18th-century fresco, the 19th–20th-century Wine Room and Small Wine Room, and an outdoor terrace open during the warmer months.
Private rooms can be reserved upon request primarily according to the size of your group and your preferences. The private Baroque room is best suited to groups of up to 18 guests; the Olden Basement accommodates up to 22 guests seated at a single table, or up to 40 guests at separate tables. The Wine Room and Small Wine Room together seat 55 guests at individual tables. For smaller parties of 2–12 guests seeking a private setting, we recommend the intimate rooms within the Gothic Cellars. During the warmer season, celebrations and private events can also be held on the outdoor terrace.
To book a private room, we’d recommend getting in touch in advance by email info@lokys.lt or by phone +370 661 30703. You can explore all dining spaces at lokys.lt/en/interiors/.

Restaurant LOKYS has been open since 1972 and is the oldest restaurant in Vilnius Old Town. It is also the city’s oldest family restaurant, run today by the second generation of the same family — a brother and sister. Evaldas, the brother, manages the staff, while his sister, Rita Keršulytė-Ryčkova, is the head chef, having brought the prestigious Grand Diplôme from the Le Cordon Bleu culinary school home to the family restaurant in 2018. She is also a qualified wine sommelier with a WSET Level 3 Diploma.
The restaurant occupies a historic 15th-century merchant’s house, where authentic 15th–16th-century Gothic cellars, an 18th-century Baroque hall with a restored fresco, and 19th–20th-century Wine rooms have all been preserved — so the space itself tells the story of Vilnius.
Since opening more than 50 years ago, Lokys has remained faithful to its game dishes, which you will still find on the menu today. The restaurant currently holds a 4.6★ rating with over 4,000 reviews. Read more at lokys.lt/en/about.
LOKYS has a rating of 4.6★ with over 4,000 reviews, making it one of the highest-rated traditional restaurants in Vilnius.
One of the most frequently mentioned dishes in guest reviews of Restaurant LOKYS is the game tasting platter Lokys House regale (a selection featuring venison and boar roasts, beaver stew, and game sausage). The individual game dishes are popular, too — roasts of venison and wild boar, and the braised beaver.
Among the traditional Lithuanian dishes, guests are fond of the cold beet soup, boletus mushroom soup, and zeppelins, made according to an old Litvak recipe. As for desserts, the most attention goes to those inspired by old Lithuanian flavours and made with Lithuanian apple cheese and rye bread.
We invite you to round off your dinner with Lithuanian drinks: unique Lithuanian berry and fruit wines, which we taste and select ourselves from small producers across the country, as well as mead, beer, and caraway kvass.
Every dish on our menu comes with historical context, when its key ingredients first arrived in Lithuania. Many guests remark that the game dishes are hard to find elsewhere. You can view the full menu at lokys.lt/en/a-la-carte-menu/
Yes, our restaurant offers a dedicated vegetarian menu section featuring traditional Lithuanian vegetarian dishes adapted from historical sources, including cepelinai with curd filling. See the vegetarian menu at lokys.lt/en/a-la-carte-menu/for-vegetarians/
Yes, LOKYS offers a wide selection of gluten-free dishes, which are clearly marked on our menu for ease of reference. You can enjoy gluten-free options from both our game dishes and our other Lithuanian fare, and we also offer gluten-free bread, beer, and desserts that meet this requirement.
Our staff are trained to cater for dietary requirements and will be glad to help you choose suitable dishes and answer any questions about their ingredients.
Please note, however, that LOKYS does not have a separate kitchen for preparing gluten-free dishes, so cross-contamination is possible.
We would be grateful if you could let us know about any gluten intolerance in advance when booking your table. We also kindly ask that you inform us of any other allergies or dietary restrictions, so that our kitchen can adapt dishes to your individual needs.
The full menu, with gluten-free dishes clearly marked, is available at lokys.lt/en/a-la-carte-menu.
Yes, please inform our staff about any food allergies when ordering. Our team is trained to advise you on suitable dishes and their ingredients.
Restaurant LOKYS is well known for its tastings that offer a deeper acquaintance with historical Lithuanian cuisine. Our guests most often opt for the historical Lithuanian food tasting, during which they sample game and other Lithuanian dishes and hear the stories behind them. We also offer a themed Royal Hunt Dinner — a theatrical experience featuring game dishes and the atmosphere of times gone by.
If you are interested in drink tastings, you can choose from local beer, also wine, champagne, or Pakruojis Manor spirit tastings. The theme of the wine tasting is tailored to your preferences, though our guests are particularly fond of the tasting of Lithuanian berry and fruit wines. We taste and select the produce of small Lithuanian makers ourselves, sourcing it from every corner of the country.
Tastings are arranged by advance booking, with at least one day’s notice. Depending on the tasting, we host groups of 4–55 or 8–55 guests. Reservations can be made by email info@lokys.lt or by phone +370 661 30703.
You can find all our tastings and events at lokys.lt/en/events/.
Yes, families with children and babies are welcome at LOKYS. While we do not have a separate children’s menu, our kitchen is happy to prepare child-friendly dishes on request — just ask your waiter. We provide high chairs for small children. The outdoor terrace, open during the warm season, also features a small children’s play area.
If you’ll be bringing a stroller, please let us know in advance so that we can find a suitable spot for you. The Gothic cellar is reached by a staircase, which is unfortunately too narrow for strollers.
